Happy to take a swing

My second round of 2022 came on the last day of August. Not the most prolific golfing season for me. I fit a lot of satisfaction into this day at Radisson with KP and Tater.

KP looks good up from Atlanta

KP has not sat idle since moving from Central New York to Atlanta. Golf has been in his schedule. I notice an improvement in his game, yes I do. My friend through five decades can hit the ball and manage his shots. Not so much Even Steven now. Still A-OK.

Interested bystanders

Tater most of the time keeps the ball in the short grass. This one time he hit it a bit to the right. I told you Radisson had taken a bit of water. The geese thought the puddles were home. So I took the chance to catch them with Tater. He stayed as calm as…

Back on course

KP is back in town, so Tater called Radisson and set up a tee time. My boss at the library granted my request for the day off. Do I look happy? More photos the next couple of days …

What I call a bonus day

This pandemic year of 2020 has not been my best for getting out on the golf course. I started out in spring with a reluctant feeling of masking up and mixing it up with others, even outside and socially distanced once the powers that be in New York State gave the OK for courses to…

There’s a gem down there at Vesper Hills

Why would KP and Tater have me go to the end of the world and take a right to join them for our first round of golf together this season? Ah, Vesper Hills. OK, so it really took me just a bit more than a half-hour south on 81 from Liverpool and then east toward…

Back on course at last

From May to September. That’s how long it took me to return to the golf course with my pals this summer. Busy for all of us, yes. In fact, that’s how long it took me to get back on the golf course at all, what with this great new job at the Liverpool Public Library…

A cool wind and a warm sun greet our golf season

A day off from the store and friends a stretch of warm spring Syracuse weather added up to the opening of golf season 2016 for KP, Tater and I. Tater chose Camillus Country Club, a public-private hybrid built high on a hill on the west side of Onondaga County. The sun shined brightly again for…

Hitting the dome walls makes us happy

KP, Tater and I got our golf season off to its traditional indoor start last week. Too chilly and wet for us to comfortably put in our first swings of 2016 on an outside course, we once again gathered inside the Golf Dome at Turning Stone Resort and Casino, some 25 southeast of Syracuse in…
