Resting mode.
From my neighborhood walks in spring, summer and even fall, I have no doubt that this suburban front yard garden can return with some oomph when the months march past with me.

We had flurries this morning for the FIRST time this year, and it’s January 23rd. I’m sure the grass, trees, flowers, and plants are all wondering what is going on!

This is the biggest front yard garden I’ve noted in our neighborhood, for sure, Karla, and it will burst forth come spring.

When I get up in the morning and look in the mirror I think to myself, “I need a little bit of oomph. I get out my makeup tools and voila!” 🙂
And my husband tells me I am as pretty as the blooms of red roses.

Wait! That’s how the Snow Belt looks these days? Upstate New York? Shouldn’t those beds be resting under several feet of nature’s white blanketing?

We’ve only experienced a few snows of several inches each, Jnana, followed by quick melts. This morning we did wake up to another dusting of maybe an inch. Meanwhile, a dozen miles to the north or two dozen miles to the west, they have experienced storms measured in feet. That makes me think we are due for at least one of the famous lake effect bands that chooses our exact path before our snow season ends.

It’s been light here on the Maine coast, too, though that might be changing tonight into tomorrow with perhaps 10 inches now forecast. Still, I remember my first winter in Binghamton, my introduction to prolonged, deep snow.

We have snow in the forecast for later today here as well, Jnana. Hope you fare safely on the Maine coast, good sir.
