My dear wife Karen is out in the backyard of A Bitter Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville working on the in-ground pool.

She listened carefully to the instructions from the man who took the cover off and explained the pump system.

She’s watched YouTube videos.

We went to a nearby pool store to update equipment and buy chemicals.

Karen vacuums and skims.

Soon, dear.

She even bought me two pair of new swimming trunks.

But … then the old heater, which we’ve decided not to use, showed a bothersome leak, forcing us to turn off the pump. The pipes are routed through it. Oy.
