My dear wife Karen outdid herself this year.
From the grandest gift to the simplest gift, she knows how to make everybody in the house happy.
I think so. Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle thinks so.
Daughter Elisabeth and boyfriend George thought so as we enjoyed family time for Christmas Eve last night. Son Daryl will think so when he arrives for his slice of family Chistmas time later today.
Merry Christmas to all my friends out there in WordPress land. And may you have a wonderful day if you celebrate something otherwise, or nothing in particular. It’s the spirit that counts.
Did you celebrate your holiday yesterday or will you today? Did you celebrate another day altogether? What’s your favorite holiday of them all, and why?
That’s a good gift! I got a ticket to a five and a half hour Broadway play about Henry III (it was expensive!) and a new vacuum. It’s a Bissell. Sadly, I’m equally thrilled about both.

I think you got two great gifts, Mark, even though one of them literally sucks.
Yeah, right now I’m watching Notre Dame vs. LSU bowl football with the sound up to 30 to work the back bass speaker as I’m blog-working. My gift is awesome.

The other gift might literally suck, too. I’ll let you know.

Mark … You and Ellie B. made out big time. Karen – you did good. 😉 Our favorite time is anytime we can get together with our girls, our sons-in-law and our grands. Seeing the grandpuppy was a bonus. We made – and ate – gingerbread men. Happy New Year to you, Karen and your whole family. 😉

Yes, it was nice. Quiet, but good. First time I hadn’t been surrounded by family. Very strange holiday and not one I want to experience again, but I was content.

Very nice! Sounds like Mrs. B should really be named Mrs. Santa. 🙂 I am recovering from all the rest and relaxation I did yesterday. It was a very laid back Christmas with my babies and Mr. B. Exactly what I wanted! 🙂

Merry Christmas Mark, to you and Karen, and a special “woof, woof” to Ellie B, aka Dogamus Pyle. I’m finally half awake, half dead, half asleep, half who knows? I think that makes me 2 people, but I’ve needed the extra person to help with all the cooking. Now retiring the extra person and taking myself to my nest for a short nap so I can wake up long enough to go to sleep for the night.

Wonderful post Mark…Wish Karen a Merry Christmas from me too! Is the large TV one of your gifts? I love most holidays, but yeah, I think Christmas has always been my favorite. From the music, to the movies, to the feeling…the spirit…there is nothing like it!

Yes, I got that huge TV, much to my surprise, considering lots of things going on in my life, Kim. My wife always surprises me. There is nothing like the spirit of Christmas. Blessed holiday to you, my friend.

Wow Mark you and Ellie B made out like bandits this year. You now have a wall in your house that opens up onto any scene in the world and beyond or puts you in the middle of any fiction created by man. And a speaker bar below – wow, just wow. Congrats, you luck devil. Sounds like Christmas is going well so far with more fun to come. My very best toKaren and your famil and may their lives be filled with health and peace. Enjoy!
I’m just relaxing at home wth an adult beverage, watching some old Christmas movies and writing a post.
Speaking of which, as an aside mark, I just guest posted a Christmas piece over at Cordelia’s Mom http://cordeliasmomstill.com/2014/12/25/the-christmas-kitten-guest-post-by-paul-curran/#comments I would be honored if you had a chance to drop by for a read if you get a chance. Thank You

Merry Christmas, Paul. You are right about this gift being a window to the world. News, movies, sports, everything. I love it. And is the first time in my life I have every been gifted into the world of surround sound. My goodness! The speaker bar rocks, and there is a bass speaker in the back of the room.
Enjoy your adult beverage. Later today I will have a glass of Cab Sav. Before that, I will mosey over to your blog at Cordelia’s Mom’s place, though, my friend.
