I will keep my eyes out for eagles as I walk past the inviting-looking winter-bare trees along the shores of Onondaga Lake. The limbs look perfect for a rest for any eagles hanging around.’
When I think about slippery ice to avoid when I walk along Onondaga Lake Park’s paths, yes, it’s sidewalks and other walkways that can get covered that come first to my mind.
The sign I showed yesterday warned about the thin ice. I knew if I looked hard enough I’d find some building up at the Onondaga Lake Marina. No time for boating or walking out there. I’ll stick to my shore strolls.
The winter sign hanging at the Onondaga Lake Marina makes lots of sense in January. Even without an obviously big ice buildup, I’ll keep my distance.
As far as I’m concerned, the longer the shovel designated for side alcove and backyard path/deck work remains tucked right next to those steps, I’m happy. You know where I stand in the snowfall category. The less, the better.
The backyard roses are suddenly looking much more seasonal. Up and down this winter has been for so many reasons.
With all the walking to and from the door done by cherished rescue mutt Ellie B, I don’t have to grab a shovel to help her make her way. Yet. Right?
Cherished rescue mutt Ellie B doesn’t hesitate going right to the edge as soon as I let her out upon my return home from work. She knows it’s cold but she travel around to find her best spot for the moment she must.
Wandering around the backyard after a workday I realize that the front of the house isn’t the only place I can spot an interesting winter sunset. I like the way it sits just over our neighbor’s house to the west. Happy January sunset this is.
