A new wrinkle.
We knew we wanted to hear the annual open house greeting from Syracuse Mets general manager Jason Smorol in the Metropolitan Club Saturday morning.
He’s always as entertaining as he is informative about what we can expect for the season to come.
The organization scheduled an added treat this year. A visit from former Met and current SNY network broadcaster Todd Zeile.

Wait a minute or 20.
I was not the only one who wanted to chat and say hello to the man who played for my Mets in the World Series of 2000.
We had time to fill before Jason’s talk, anyway …
