My dear wife Karen and I criss-crossed the lines of the New York State Fair midway until we found the Peacheys stand.
On their earlier trip, terrific daughter Elisabeth had mid-fair texted that their glazed donut was the best thing she’d eaten from any of the food groups.
High praise, you think?
We went to the right line and waited, oh, 20 people deep.
The worker handed over two.
We found a nearby bench to savor.
Yes. Fantastic.
The half I allowed myself indeed was wonderful. I’d say it was the texture that made it stand apart from the traditional donut universe. Plus, it was warm.
Karen said it was the best sweet food she’d ever eaten at the fair!
We hauled my second half with us so Karen could have it later.
Yum! Going to see if they are coming this way!

wow, this must have been an amazing donut, high praise. and how incredible that you had the willpower to only eat half, knowing it was what was good for you.
