My dear wife Karen and I spied people hanging out up high and waiting for stuff down below as we walked amid the Midway crowds at the New York State Fair.

The aerialists seemed happy.
I knew I was quite content with my feet planted solidly on the pavement.
Besides, we were on a quest to find terrific daughter Elisabeth’s recommendation, the glazed donut from Peachey’s …
The more I age, the more I want to preserve my mortality. Let’s just stand and look up and watch them go by.

I would definitely keep my feet on the ground and chart a path towards the glazed donut.

I am certain of it….if the heights don’t prevent me from doing so! But I’ve done ski lifts before so I think I can do it!

I love the ski lift rides. They are so gentle and unalarming. Also, I can look all around and see where I want to go next.
