With Syracuse University’s football season done with a record of 5-7 after Saturday’s 31-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers, it’s the time for the higher-ups to answer questions.
Yes, they brought back coach Dino Babers even though he has just that one 10-win season on his plus-side, and five losing seasons now to go with it. Instead they let go the offensive coordinator and two other assistants for those fans clamoring for a dismissal. Will Babers and his new hires be able to turn this program around?
Will the good players, most particularly very special running back Sean Tucker, return for next season, or enter that so-easy transfer portal and further deflate fans’ hopes?
And as these organizational puzzle pieces play out, my dear wife Karen and I will decide if we will or will not come back for another year of season ticket purchasing.
To be continued.
Mark,
Your absolutely correct and as a dedicated fan like yourself entitled to get some answers! We’re all familiar with the disappointment. Penn State really slipped as well this season losing many 🔑 games but they’re not alone. We know Brian Kelly was available. Mauve they can look arc the former LSU coach. Seems there are other qualified candidates on the move now to choose from. I trust they’ll be some good news soon.

The great atmosphere at that Penn State game was one of the reasons I’m thinking hard about Syracuse’s routines at the dome, Gerald. We shall see.
