I kept my eyes opened everywhere I traveled this fall, hoping to find a stunning tree to capture, big colors to share.
Then I pulled into our driveway after my library shift Wednesday and there stood our lovely dogwood right in the center of our front lawn.
The soon-to-set sun hit its going-to-fall leaves in just the right angle.
Reds and oranges danced.
Patience, rewarded, on our doorstep.
I do love and appreciate how the foliage waits until it can take us surprise. Happens every year!

Patience rewarded–that’s beautiful, Mark. I was sharing about how our Autumn seemed more muted. How dare I say something like that so early in the year. She proved me wrong and I’ve enjoyed the prettiest colors right in my own yard too.I pride myself on being patient; nature sure showed me.
