Our first experience in the renovated Carrier Dome happened to take place Saturday, on the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
The unfurling of the flag held by important service folks, playing of the National Anthem by the Syracuse marching band and flag graphic rolling on the new center of the field video board provided a memorable start for my dear wife Karen and I.
More to come about the daylong journey for the college football game between the Syracuse Orange and Rutgers Scarlet nights the rest of this week.
Beautiful remembrance.

Sometimes we make somber occasions or think somber occasions should be dark or bleak. And of course it shouldn’t be a joyful time.
But the color and enthusiasm of people coming together to remember and never forget is powerful. Some things unite us despite our differences.

It was a special weekend of remembrance of the events of 2001. Brought back many memories and more questions. Full of gratitude for those first responders then and today. Peace.
