My dear wife Karen called me out to the backyard.
She had spotted our yearly winner. Out next to the back deck have sprouted five yellow flowers from many green applicants.
Worth getting out there for a good look, yes. Thank you, April flowers.

I think we may be in for some colors today. The sky is blue. The grass is green. The flag is flying. Flowers next.

I saw a lot of it yesterday. Did a little spring cleaning to enjoy it !

Mine should be blooming any day now! We had our first nice day yesterday after a few days of doom and gloom. 🌤 cold again today and tomorrow but then hopefully warm again for the next week, at least enough to get them to bloom 🌼

Those must be some hardy Syracuse bulbs! Showing up right on time after the thaw and when everyone needs a lift. Beautiful, Mark! Thank you

I really do too, Mark. Her voice had a beautiful spark to it. I always think of her when I see the daffodils. So thank you for that. xo

Wow, didn’t you have snow just last week? Your photo makes me really wish I had put in perennials at some point; what with the lockdown, I’m not likely to be doing any flowers this year (not willing to go to a garden center, even if I could find an open one). Are things as scary in Syracuse as they are in Buffalo? We have 802 positive cases in Erie County, and climbing steadily. But at least spring will arrive no matter what else is going on.

Things are just as scary here, CM. I think our per capita in Onondaga County is on par with your Buffalo area. Every day, the count rises. We are staying right here except for very sporadic but necessary pharmacy and grocery, and now we are wearing masks to those. This is the time of year when we usually do our garden center thing, yes, so instead Karen has been doing a lot of work on what’s already in ground while I do the library stuff in the living room.

Thanks, Mark. I wondered about the rest of the state since we only hear about NYC and Erie County. Staying in is the best thing to do.

Onondaga County had its fourth death yesterday, CM. I have not looked at today’s stats yet. So sad and frightened and anxious it makes me.

It’s so hard to reconcile the beauty of spring around me when I go on my daily jogs and all of the calamity going on around us.

You sure have that right, Kerbey. The stress heaps up with the statistics.
