Lady Antebellum does look and sound good at our pretty Syracuse amphitheater

Our one show at Lakeview Amphitheater this summer did it for me.

Lady Antebellum, You Sound Great.

That horn section borrowed from Justin Timberlake? Genius.

Power of horns.

Yes, I’d say the power of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood was still merging their trio-style of their decade-long voice and chemistry magic when my dear wife Karen and I caught their show in Syracuse. The old hits still sound smooth and silky.

Magic of three.

They were sweet with American Honey, caught with my iPhone 6s.

And a cover of Shania Twain’s Still the One brought out the cellphones.

Thank you, Shania.

But it was the power of the new stuff that lifted them into a new era. The You Look Good sound is special, indeed.

The horns have it down.

Middle act Kasey Ballerini had her share of followers, for sure.

Life is not black and white.

The Tennessee native drew big cheers when she declared she’s no fan of love songs – even though she’s now engaged.

Opener Brett Young won the earliest arrives over with his easy way and winning set.

Big hits to come?

The tall singer already has a No. 1 song to his credit, and I see big things for his future.
