Angie’s back, with a promise to stop fiddling with the password

Angie's back

Friday I told you all about how Angie from Kentucky had given up on her excellent blog because she couldn’t log into WordPress anymore.

She’d tried to change her password for security’s sake, it turns out, and that was it for that blog.

But instead of giving up, this retired woman with MS gathered her strength and started another one.

“Angie’s back,” she would say. Did say. Will say again.

I told you all to check out her work on the old blog Friday.

Now there’s the new site.

Angie’s new link.

Go ahead, follow that one. She’s been promising me no more password changes and a lot more great writing.

  1. Love you guys and your support. The only problem I’m having right now is when I try to leave comments on some blogs I get switched over to the old blog and they want me to sign in, which I can’t, so even though I’ve started following on the new one, WP hasn’t caught up yet. Might have to change the name slightly so I can leave comments. I’m afraid to change anything though. EEEEEEYYYYYIIIIII.

      • How can something like this happen, Mark? Really. That is too scary. Was WP support notified? Something like this should not happen. I am just so relieved I have her new site so I can continue to follow Angie. What a great guy you are, helping her out!!! Love, Amy

      • Unfortunately, Amy, I do not know how or why Angie had problems trying to change her WP password. This happened last year, too, and she did not have success dealing with WP support, and as a result is sour on that process, too. She has promised me to not attempt to change her WP password again!

      • *shaking head in disgust* This story will really stay with me and I am not about to change my password. I just did, Mark, and I had zero problems. I’m not about to push my luck. We can only hope WP policy on running a business properly, will improve. (((HUGS))) Amy

      • I think it has a lot to do with age of your computer, browser, operating system, many factors. And operator, too, Amy. I fear things like this, actually, because we are all at the mercy of help desks and services and platforms and systems, you know?

  2. Thanks Mark and Jeanette. The password is set and carved in stone and no matter what, will never, ever be changed again, hang the security. Anybody else wants to hack me, go ahead. WordPress doesn’t like it when I change my password so if they don’t like security changes, then they can clean up the mess if I get hacked again. And sorry to anyone if they suffer the consequences due to WP’s obstinance about changing passwords.

  3. I tried to figure it out myself yesterday, but then the day went downhill and I forgot to try again.

I am glad she is going to keep going, but I still want to solve the mystery of the other blog.
