Time traveling with an animated dog and Greek Gods

When I was a kid, you couldn’t pull me away from the cartoon spectacular that was “Rocky and His Friends.”

In one good chunk of time, I’d get the title squirrel, a moose by the name of Bullwinkle, and a smart dog and silly kid.

That last pairing would be Peabody and Sherman.

The Dreamworks folks have gotten their hands on this classic duo for “Mr Peabody and Sherman,” opening this weekend.

It seems that on a trip back in that wonderful machine for theirs, something was done to change life as they know it. Gotta fix it, quick!

Also opening this weekend is the live-action sequel “300: Rise of an Empire.”

There will be battles in Ancient Greece.

Which attracts you more, the animated dog or the epic Greek God action?

  1. “Mr. Peabody and Sherman” is on my list of must-see movies. I loved Rocky, Bullwinkle and all the other characters in that cartoon show. It’s a show like “The Simpsons.” It appealed to adults and children, but on different levels. Thanks for the heads up, Mar,.

  2. I want to see the Peabody movie with grandkids, but not at all interested in the ‘300’ sequel or things that have such a video game appearance. Sorry~ but you want candid opinions, right? Thanks for the previews…

  3. I can’t wait for your review on Peabody and Sherman! We want to see that! And take kids. Though from the preview I saw I wonder if much of it won’t be over little kids heads. Which doesn’t matter as long as they love the action and characters.
