This is getting old, this snowy winter.
I promised Ellie B, aka Dogamous Pyle, a walk this Sunday morning. The theme came to me quickly as we got to the business end of our Syracuse city neighborhood of Eastwood.
Where are they going to put it next?
The four-day mini-melt of last week is long gone. The snow is falling again.
The snow banks are mighty high.
Here’s what Ellie B and I saw. The mounds are now too high for our dear rescue mutt to even attempt to climb.
Have you wheeled around happily in a newly snowed parking lot?
old is right. still four feet of snow. still mostly gray sky. I better go paint.

When you do little tight parking lot donuts in a Tim Horton’s parking lot, do you call them the Little Ts, Beth?

tim bits for sure )

That’s it. Tim’s bits. At Dunkin’s Donuts they’re called Munchins. I don’t think I would want to be accused of running over either of those things in a parking lot fiasco, Beth.

Thanks, bond, er, Beth.

Be thankful it’s just snow Mark. Even I can navigate in snow. We have ice covering everything again and the sleet is still coming down. I remember snow. In 1977 we had 20 foot drifts of it, after an 18 inch snowfall, and schools were cancelled for the entire month of January. Just imagine being homebound with 3 kids of your own, and several neighbor’s kids who decided I was the “fun” mom in the area, all piled together in the one room that had heat. But I would still prefer snow to the ice we get now. You can drive on snow, but not on ice. And of course, I can remember, in my younger days, doing donuts in a grocery store parking lot on a Sunday, back when stores were closed on Sunday. That was fun times.

Yes, I hate snow, but I fear ice, Angie. You are correct.

Turned out to be 6 inches of ice covered by 4 inches of snow. Sun came out this afternoon, but temps stayed really cold with a high of 25.

When the snow stops I hope for some windy, not dangerous windy, but windy to help dry out and move the snow away kind of wind. Soon Mark. Soon!

I am not too sad today, although prepared for more snow. I have had piles of snow left behind my car, only to pull out the plastic shovel that my friend gave me to dig myself out. Today, though, somehow I found the perfect location to park, between two SUV’s and against a building! Wow! My daughter in law came to pick up my 2 granddtrs and she had between 4-6 inches piled up on her roof, looked at my car and we remarked, I need to leave the library early today to get right back in this ideal slot of my apt. parking lot! Sorry about the Snow Mt. and even the dog, not too keen on climbing it! Smiles,Robin

Ahhh, that is what I did in the playground of the school with my VW beetle – a donut! (School wasn’t in session that day). It was FUN! You all have had a LOT of snow! We haven’t had much snow this year (yay!) For the past few days it has been raining quite hard. It finally looks like the sun is peaking out today. 😀

Enjoy the sun, PJ. I think the fiery ball has scheduled its next Syracuse appearance for March 29, like a popular band coming here once a year whether they like it or not.

Photos to speak louder than words. Let it be known the dramatic grayness to the pictures is not photoshopped in. I wonder if the donut makers had a fun time.

You know they did. Safe skidding in a parking lot should be added to the next Winter Olympics, Chris. And, yes, all of these photos are, as Cyndi Lauper would sing, “True Colors.”

Arrrghhh! I am definitely moving to less-snowy, sunnier, and all-around more friendly climes, once my son graduates from high school. You heard it here, first. Thanks for helping me along with this process, Mark. And, regards to Dogamous Pyle.

I think I shall rather like all the photos you will be sharing when that move to friendly climes, Ann. And Ellie B woofs her approval, too.
