They’re noisy birds, but I don’t mind

Feel free to sit outside my window, winter birds. But please watch the glass.

Feel free to sit outside my window, winter birds. But please watch the glass.

Every so often sitting in my living room here in the Syracuse city neighborhood of Eastwood these past couple of days, I hear a thump against the picture window.

Ellie B, aka Dogamous Pyle, jumps on top of me on my recliner to peer out, and I hunch over to protect the family … iPad Air.

After shushing Ellie B back to the couch yesterday, I quietly, oh-so-stealthily, grabbed said iPad and pressed against the glass.

Birds, a jumpy little flock of them, were collected on the big bush just outside.

Thank you for posing, birdies.

And please be careful when you fly into that big window. There’s a dog who’d love to meet you in here, and she’s not that gentle in her eagerness.

  1. I think a few window clings would help the birds not hit the window! The birds outside my house are really loud in the morning, but as you said, I don’t mind. 🙂

  2. The birds of Syracuse have their way about things. This includes the crows. In a scene from Adult World crows fly from a tree and caw, and the thought that went through my head was: “Oh, those are Syracuse crows.” With the atmosphere and their squawk, they have their definitive quirks.
