Ancient Rome, middle-aged Kevin Costner, open this weekend

A couple of scenes from the trailer for “Pompeii” jumped off my iPad screen.

I thought he gladiator stadium in the ancient city of Rome looked pretty darn spectacular.

In all, the action peppered throughout by Kit Harington was very dramatic. And, the film is offered in 3D.

Still, though, I perhaps am more drawn to the exploits of CIA man Kevin Costner in “3 Days to Kill.”

The trailer showed the older-than-me guy jumping around pretty good as he tries to earn the antidote for a fatal disease by completing one last assignment.

And yes, I must pick one and only one for my Monday review. Check back here to see which movie wins out.

Kit, Kevin? Kevin, Kit?

  1. this is a tough choice, mark, both look worth seeing in my opinion. i love the historical action epic type of films and also love action suspense stuff. i look forward to reading you what you write about whichever you choose to see )

  2. I have found Kevin Costner much more interesting as an accomplished actor, since he is getting older… This will be one I may rent. I am saving my bucks for awhile, maybe getting a new sofa… Glad you filled us in on some details of both “3 Days to Kill” and “Pompeii.” I will check out your next post about these upcoming films! • Strike against Polanski and his inappropriate behavior? I listened to the Harris book when I walked early in the morning in Phoenix. It got me up and going just to hear more. We visited Pompeii and Herculaneum but he is such a page turning storyteller, I was hypnotized!
