Today I am thankful for those I love, those who love me and all that we’ve been able to achieve in this life together.
I am thankful for my health, happiness and home.
I mean it all, from the heart.
Today is the day for giving thanks.
But I don’t want to stop there.

Yes, I throw my glasses into the ring to be considered for Poster 2014. (Photo by Visionworks technician)
I want to talk about my new reading glasses. After all, I owe you all the follow-up, considering how you waded through my entry last week about my trip to the eye doctor.
The new specs are on my face as I type. They’re boss. I picked out great frames. The eye doctor hit a homer with the prescription for these three-zoned progressives. As Johnny Nash used to sing, “I can see clearly now …” Man, new glasses are clean! The technician in my local Syracuse Visionworks adjusted them perfectly on my face. No sliding around. No little red marks on the sides of my nose.
In fact, they made me so happy, so fast, that I decided in the store that I was a perfect candidate for their next Visionworks poster. I wanted to audition right away. I asked the kind technician to snap an iPhone photo of me next to this year’s version.
I am convinced I have found a better me.
Do you think I have a chance for the 2014 version?
Oh, yes. I can’t forget this: Happy Thanksgiving!
Visionworks could do worse, for sure, and probably not any better. Thanks for this post.

Thank you Ann. I could promise them that I would not be a stuck-up model!
