On my pre-work morning stroll, I don’t forget where I must return. And I think that’s not so bad.

This Lights on the Lake display lingers in its spot along the path of Onondaga Lake Park. No rush!
Anybody who chooses the early morning hours to spy what Onondaga Lake Park offers in February is likely to have plenty of space to spread out. Other hours perhaps not so much, as the previously left footprints indicate.
My pre-work stroll in the cold and fallen snow finds plenty of solitiude around the Onondaga Lake Marina.
Later and later she rises, without the need of spring ahead.
Waiting for warmer time: The iced-over boat berths at our Onondaga Lake Marina seem lined up in perfect winter symmetry.
A quick before-work walk down to the lake allows me to note the sun rising to the east. I also note that people still like to trot down from Tulip Street to the wider path cleared by County Parks workers for year-round use.
My cold stroll managed to cross lots of snow to the edge of the Onondaga Lake Marina, where the warning signs were true. The lake by the shore has indeed frozen over thanks to all this below-zero weather we’ve had.
I found a few moments and the courage to fight the cold to check out how things are going the couple blocks toward Onondaga Lake. The plows reach the edge, yes.
I have been avoiding taking a shovel to our backyard so far this winter. Last Friday’s biggest storm of the winter may have changed that. Maybe. Perhaps.
