The folks at Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center want to find a good home for all their plants. Even the less than impressive. Good work, people.

When you look out in the distance at Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center, you’d think they were growing and welling their plants and trees out in the country. Look in another direction, though, and you can spot the big buildings of other businesses poking through the nature. This is, after all, the suburbs of Syracuse.
Add Hamilton to my list of waited-too-long to discover. My good friend KP told me years ago how he listened to the soundtrack in his car. I read about the merging of rap and Broadway, raised an eyebrow and … didn’t buy the music, or try to get down to Broadway or … Then I…
It took us way longer than usual to take our annual trip to Chuck Hafner’s Garden Center. The biggest of our local nurseries always looked too darn crowded for safe socially distancing for my dear wife Karen and I. Then we took the Monday following the July Fourth weekend off. The plants were still many.…
I noticed a tremendous uptick in my blog stats just a bit ago. It went from a slow spring-to-summer to what-the-heck in one day. And stayed way higher than usual since. I’m trying to figure out why. Lots of Jits are going to my home page. And then they are spreading out to many, many…
Next up in our summer rotation: The front yard daisies. We do not have any goats roaming the neighborhood. Or foraging deer, that I’ve seen. Still, the title of that really old TV show somehow popped into my mind.
My terrific daughter Elisabeth and George Three definitely scored with their latest mask fashions. Yes, George is a Yankees fan. And still I hang out with him. Elisabeth surely loves her glitter. We will continue to stock up on masks, all four of us. And wear them out we do.
My dear wife Karen usually partake in our first pina colada of the season in Cape Cod. Ah, but that week in 2020 was pushed from June to a month later in the summer season, what with the virus. We could not wait that long. The Retreat in the Village of Liverpool was happy to…
The latest backyard stage includes the rise of our purple climbers. I am truly enjoying the incremental differences in color bursts.
Beard by me. Hair by my dear wife Karen. Necessity breeds improvement with the home vanity work, I surely think. Still love the home clippers. Caution and state law won’t allow my longtime friend/hair stylist Theresa to return to her beard trimming, so my home work will continue every four weeks.
