Getting stuck?

It’s been below zero, real temperature, a handful of times in our part of the world this winter.

Things get stuck in the morning.

Worst was the outside door of our front alcove teamed with the lock latch on our side gate.

I got us out two ways: moving a portable heater into the alcove to thaw the door and setting a step ladder against the inside of the fence and climbing over.

Also interesting: the lids on our garbage pails freezing closed.

These I had to free with a series of hard yanks.
