Combo meal.
My dear wife Karen and I were fascinated by the cafe attached to Sauders on our first trip west this summer.
So we timed visit two for lunch time.
After a wait on line behind a half-dozen or so other hungry parties, I decided on the combo special of grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup.

Heaped high.
My dear wife Karen selected a BLT.
Interesting, my meals was.
The soup was topped with corn, a surprise with the chicken and noodles. All in all, it tasted a lot like Campbell’s (which I like) mixed with canned corn (which I also like). Together, though, they took away from each other’s best traits. I ate about half the cup.
The cheese in my selected wheat bread was the meltiest ever! I stretched all over my plate. And said bread was wet with plenty of butter. Too much, maybe.
On the other hand, Karen thought her BLT was stacked with bacon and just right all around.
I did eye other plates to order during a next visit, so … victory.
All sounds delicious!

Comforting comfort food, Mark. The best kind. Grilled cheese is one of those go-tos when I want a quick meal in the Fall…and soup always seems to go down better when I have a grilled cheese in hand!

It is quite the natural combo, Bruce!

they do all look/sound like delish comfort food in theory, especially the melty cheese, the combo corn/chicken noodle may not have been the best idea though, but the rest sounded great. nothing like a good soup and sandwich.

Mark, You should take a drive over to Belhurst castle for lunch in Geneva. They have a great selection at the Stonecutter restaurant. Top of the wine trail too. They have a wide selection of wines there as well. bon appetite! !
