Finding a frozen lake

February 17, 2025 5:00 am

Solid.

A late February visit to our Onondaga Lake Park found the water frozen clear over to the other side.

The park workers were wise enough to close off dock access, warning people not to use it for a launching pad out beyond.

It’s been cold, yes, but I don’t think they want to encourage testing the thickness of the ice.

  2. I feel like I’ve been in touch with you before. I have the same last name. My married name from my late husband. It is just funny to see how the name pops out of practically nowhere because it is familiar!

  3. Holy snow, Mark! A tundra season for you. We’re expecting a foot here in my neck of the woods tomorrow. Your photo, even with the hidden dangers, is so peaceful and beautiful.
