Ready to celebrate in style.

My dear wife Karen and I finished purchasing a couple bottles of Cab Sav for me plus a bottle for her to bring to Georgia’s for a cookie exchange afternoon when the clerk pointed to a carton at the end of the counter and exclaimed, <em>That’s your’s, too.</em>

Wrong, said my brain.

</em>That’s not our’s.</em> answered I.

Karen smiled and said it was. <em>Happy Birthday!</em> exclaimed my wife.

Not yet the day, thought I with a grin on my face as we wheeled a cart to the car and she told me to look in the box.

My thoughtful gift from my awesome wife: Five bottles of Cab Franc from Finger Lakes Region wineries.

I’d given up on the great-tasting Cab Franc and returned to the less-expensive Cab Sav as a cost-saving measure this fall.

But now, thanks to me dear wife Karen, I’ll have five bottles of Cab Frank to explore and savor and definitely enjoy.

Should last a good while. Make that a great while.
