From sad to happy

Our dear grandcat Ava.

The family said bye to sweet rescue cat Ava this season.

Terrific daughter Elisabeth and wonderful partner George Three had shared their lives with her for nine years.

Of course the trip over the rainbow bridge for a beloved pet is not easy.

We all were so sad.

Welcome, Vinny and Izzy!

Elisabeth convinced George a trip to our Humane Society was necessary.

They brought home two kitties.

The good folks there said gray Isabela is two weeks older than black Vincent.

Yes, we love the names chosen by Elisabeth and George.

You know my dear wife Karen and I have visited with big smiles on our faces and love quickly filling our hearts.

Sadness can give way to joy.

  1. I think it is wonderful that they are giving two kitties a loving home. So sorry about Ava, but I know she had a good life with them. I can’t rescue a cat because of my allergies, but I may have my house dog ready by spring.

  2. I’m so sorry about ava. that is never easy to lose a loved one, even if they are a pet, they are part of the family. I’m so happy to hear about the arrival of vinyl and izzy!!!! such cute names, too

  3. Mark, this is so heart touching. It’s hard to lose a beloved pet. Ava was precious (and the name of my beloved Grandma Wilson). Welcome to Vinny and Izzy! I understand the emotionally shift. Rescuing is good for all hearts~human and animal! How sweet!

  4. Glad they are happy with the new pets. LUCKY Vinny and izzy to find a good home.
When we (my sis and brother) finally left home, mother still had our old cat called Calico. They gave each other many more winters of companionship.
