How they used the hot springs back in the day

Step right in.

The second time my dear wife Karen and I strolled through downtown Hot Springs, we were more schooled in what folks did back in the day to make the so-warm baths that bubble from our Earth so popular.

Sister-in-law Lynne pointed out a museum across from her store Dapper & Debonaire that would show us more.

Intricate.

At the Fordyce, we walked through rooms filled with hoses and sinks and tables and tubs used by those seeking relief from aches and illnesses.

I kept my hands to myself.

It all looked extremely clinical to us, extremely like a medical procedure and not so much like an hour spent in a hot tub with friends.

Cooling off necessary.

Well, we decided, we don’t think we would have signed up back in the day.

Or now.

Looking up.

It was pretty in some spots, though.
