What next?
I wondered, as I looked across the street from under our side alcove as a slight October morning drizzle still fell, will more color show up in that pretty tree on the town offices lawn, or will those leaves go straight to the ground as is?
OMG!
Should we move on to the Yankees now that that’s over with?

Can’t tell what species the tree is from the photo, bro. Mark, but if it’s an oak the leaves will stay on the tree until long after other trees, turning brown, but waiting until too late for the city pick ups. Maple will turn red and gold very soon, and not sure what other kinds will do. I might have known a few years ago, but senility and stupidity are setting in fast in this old brain. Beautiful shape though. The tree, not me!

Just 81 years of watching the leaves turn every year and walking in the woods after the leaves have carpeted them with the wonderful crunch that softens the footsteps. But thanks for the compliment, bro Mark.
