Wonderful choice.
The Kia Soul had to go, terrific daughter Elisabeth reported in her text.
It was inspection time, and her trusted mechanic could work a miracle no more.
So meetings were set and negotiations settled.

Spiffy, says Dad.
A gorgeous new Nissan Rogue sits in the driveway in front of Elisabeth and George Three’s house.
Wonderful, for so many reasons.
The Kia Soul had served her well, for way more than 100,000 miles. But for the last year-plus, besides dealing with that Check Engine light that wouldn’t go off, she had to deal with the brand’s noted flaw of Easy to Steal, placing The Club on her steering wheel while parked, even in their driveway.

Family loves it.
Now she has the comfort of a sturdy upgrade.
Knock on wood.
Keep my family safe, I said as my dear wife Karen and I departed on that Night One of welcome, knocking on the car’s back tailgate.
A new car is always a big event, Mark. It looks like a great choice. I’ve liked what I’ve seen of the Rogue and if I ever were to stray from Honda products, that car would be under consideration. Looking forward to hearing how Elisabeth’s experience is with it “down the road.”🚗

George Three and I both drive a Honda, but we could not sway her in that direction, Bruce! I like the Nissan, I will say.

I am happy you guys waited to get the newer body style Rogue because the previous generation had a very problematic CVT transmission.

We are still driving our 2007 Honda. It still gets us to the grocery and doctor. Where else to go??
Good choice. I am sure Elizabeth is glad the deed is done and signed. She can happily move on to the next little episode life will bring.

good for Elizabeth and congrats to her! I’ve been reading about certain makes and models being targets for thieves. I’m looking at getting a new/used car when I retire, and pass my car on after all of my commuting years, but not yet sure what I’ll get

It was unfortunate that Elisabeth had to deal with the easy-to-steal stuff the last portion of the Kia’s life with her, Beth. She really did like that car. I was kind of glad that it ran out of oomph after all those miles!
