Totality awesome

At 3:20 p.m. Monday in Syracuse, N.Y.

Was the walk onto the center field warning track worth it for my dear wife Karen and I on Monday afternoon at the Syracuse Mets’ NBT Bank Stadium worth it?

As mid-afternoon looked like midnight, I aimed my iPhone a little ways away from the eclipsed sun and captured this scene.

The waiting in lines, worrying about clouds, not seeing a lot of the pre-eclipse convergence because of the cover … yeah, this moment made it special.

Once in a lifetime, I said as we walked off the field.

I’ll share a few more photos the next couple of days.

  1. These events are amazing things, Mark. I remember seeing one as a kid, and it was so eerie how darkness faded in from having bright sunshine, and then just as quickly faded out.

I am so happy you got to experience it.
We had 60% partial eclipse and it was still fun to watch.
