Enjoying the wine and scene

First from the entrance.

My dear wife Karen and I had a fine time Saturday afternoon circling the Regional Market’s Shed F for the Syracuse Wine Festival.

We appreciated our pours from each table from the amiable representatives from Central New York wineries.

So much to discover.

Karen tended toward more fruity choices. I picked more dry reds. Many of those pouring commented about how our tastes differed. Well, said I, we’re always drinking from a different bottle of wine each at home.

Speaking of which, when it came time to pick this or that to take home, Karen opted for Frontenac by Thousand Island Winery and Matinee by Fulkerson Winery. I asked winemaker Shannah Cheney of Owera Vineyards to please pass over three more bottles of their Cabernet Franc.

Cheese, please.

To nibble a bit, we stopped at the Cheese Filled Company Table for samples. Karen appreciated her slice of pepperoni stuffed with cheddar, while I asked for and enjoyed sharp cheddar on its own.

Pretty and delicious.

On the other side of the horseshoe, Karen was pulled to the Apothecary chocolate table as it were a magnet.

I gladly bought her reasonably priced pieces, and the light and dark were both delicious.

Ours for home sipping.

We also liked the pair of wine glasses we got to take home with us after using them for the samples during the afternoon.
