Quite a game to pick

No Coach Babers.

I had no inkling how much drama my dear wife Karen and I would watch unfold at the JMA Wireless Dome when I looked over the ticket availability online before the first Syracuse University game this season and selected the last game Wake Forest as our one visit this season.

Summoning good team vibes.

And then came the season.

Four wins to start.

A losing streak until a victory over Pittsburgh at Yankee Stadium in game 10 with an odd offensive game plan that saw three players take snaps under center and all of them looking to run the ball, not pass.

The firing of Coach Dino Babers when game 11 was lost last Saturday, meaning the Orange would need to win the finale to reach 6-6 to reach a bowl game for the second season in a row.

And they’re off under the direction of interim coach Nunzio Campanelli.

The good news: Main QB Garrett Shrader was recovered enough from his lingering injury to throw the ball downfield, tight end/QB Dan Villari ran and threw well and tailback LaQuint Allen Jr. ran like he wanted that bowl game,

The Orange won 35-31. Now we’ll wait to hear who will come in as the new coach and where this team will play during bowl season.

More drama.
