Falling across the street

Starting to let go.

The big tree in front of the Town offices provides a pretty view for us three seasons a year.

OK, four. Winter snow clinging to the branches can look quite nice in certain light, too.

In October, various stages of leave-goodbyes keep my eyes riveted.

  1. Do you go out each morning and count the leaves that have fallen? Or count the leaves still left on the tree?
Just how do you determine how many have let go?
I hope the wind blows the other way so you aren’t left with the raking up job.
As a kid I was paid (by mother) $.25 a bushel basket of leaves. At $.10 for a Saturday afternoon of cartoons and feature at the theater, it was a pretty good deal.
