Big interior ideas

Cozy in the primary.

These builders know they must go all out on the interiors and enlist smart designers, too, to make their Parade of Homes houses memorable.

So I took out my iPhone to capture some of their good ideas.

This main bedroom window seat made me smile.

In a great light.

The wall of windows adjoining the to-the-ceiling fireplace with built-ins made me feel happy.

A living space that gives way to a covered outdoor deck was pretty cool.

A conversation corner.

I appreciate the fireplace in this living room but wondered how I’d best fit in my recliner for prime TV viewing.

So onto the big reveal.

As we finished with the half-dozen homes, my dear wife Karen said she wanted another walk through only one house. Her favorite. Mine, too, I declared.

Our pick this year.

House No. 2, Merlot, by Scott Merle Builders, two easy stories of beauty.

  1. These were all gorgeous, Mark. I like the look of a big TV above a fireplace mantle, but I always feel like, functionality-wise, it would make your neck hurt looking up that high if you watched much TV. Otherwise, I loved everything there. Thanks for sharing! ❤️

  2. The decorating is fabulous. But would I ever have to change my living style if I moved in. If only they Would let folks live in a new house for a month before the big $$$$$. We build/designed our home — nothing fancy …. but i continue after over 25 years thinking/wishing I’d done something different. 😦

    • Instead of Parade of Homes they should have named this event Parade of Dreams, ladysighs. I assume some folks have the cash or gumption to to line up the big mortgage or the neighborhood would not exist!
