A day at the races

Post time parade.

When great friend KP was visiting from Atlanta earlier this month, he threw out the idea for a couple-hour road trip to the east.

Yes, a visit to see the horses go round at Saratoga Race Course was a good idea, Bake and myself agreed.

Seats were a must, we thought, so a stop at a Stewart’s Shop along the way allowed for the iPhone purchase of three tickets for our spot for the day safely in the grandstand.

Busy weekday.

The home-base seats allow you to wander, sure, but reserve your place to return whenever you wish.

We had company in the grandstand, you bet.

The session at this pretty and historic Capital-Region track only runs a month, so upstate New Yorkers (and downstaters and other-staters, too) take advantage of the opportunity.

We enjoyed our visit. I’ll post more sights these next several days.

  1. Mark, how fun! Great pics, too! I haven’t been to the races since going to Hot Springs several years ago. Growing up, my parents would go each year with an uncle and aunt. Great memories! Thank you for sharing your outings and life!
