This late in the season, I can enjoy my Syracuse Mets season by rooting for many players watched through previous portions of the year playing upstairs with the parent New York Mets.
In fact, the lead off hitter on this night was outfielder Travis Jankowski, who began the season with my New York Mets until hurting his finger and then falling down to other roster swaps.
First base … Dom Smith, a favorite of mine who has ridden the elevator several times this season.
Catcher, Michael Perez, acquired in August and just sent down.
You get what I mean.
That elevator ride must be kind of scary for some.

I didn’t know Dom Smith was still in the organization. I know he was unhappy with his playing time on the big club earlier, and it sounded like they thought about moving him. I do remember seeing him on a few occasions.

I wonder what’s going to happen in the offseason, Bruce. I think some big league team will find him worthy of a try.

It’s interesting to see them sent down to Triple-A and still working hard to keep the career going, Beth.
