Another take on the fireworks

While the fireworks went off after the Syracuse Mets stadium, my dear wife Karen was carefully taking photos with her new iPhone 13. She fancies the portrait position compared to my favored landscape. Lucky us Thank you for sharing, my dear wife.

Great view for the fireworks

All it took was one burst of Saturday night’s Syracuse Mets post-game fireworks to see why the would not allow fans to stay on the Salt City Deck to watch. They indeed were bursting right around us. We liked it.

Nice view too from there and there

Wanderers that we are, my dear wife Karen, daughter Elisabeth and fiance George Three couldn’t stay on the Salt City Deck forever as we took in Saturday’s Syracuse Mets game. We strolled out of the sun seeking seats in the shade. Karen directed us into obviously empty seats at a tabletop, much in the location…

Our hands (and feet) on deck

The Central New York chapter of CSEA set up a nice union get-together at the Syracuse Mets game for Saturday. Yes, I passed the Civil Service Test and scored high enough on the list to secure my position at the library, part of the Onondaga County system. So I said yes for tickets that included…

King of the roadster

I find some interesting examples in town for the Syracuse Nationals gathering when I stop by the local hotel parking lot. I picture this one hauling around Bonnie and Clyde-fashion wearing couples in its heyday …

Welcome back, cool classic cars

It’s Syracuse Nationals weekend 2022. That means I find more than a clear path to the Kinney’s at my usual stop at the neighborhood pharmacy at the corner of Electronics and Seventh North in my hometown of Liverpool, N.Y. I walk one parking lot over to the right for a good, happy look at the…

Jake de Grom looks pretty fine in Syracuse

The moment word got out that New York Mets star pitcher Jake de Grom was likely to take a rehab start in our very own Syracuse Mets’ NBT Bank Stadium, my dear wife Karen said, yes, thank you, she would like to see that moment with her own eyes. So I drove over on my…

Summer breeze, makes me feel fine

Strolling through Onondaga Lake Park on a lovely July day, it strikes me that Jim Seals passed away at the age of 80 in June. Thank you for giving us the song Summer Breeze during my teen years of the mid-70s, Seals and Croft. It resonates in my soul on sublime summer days still.

Quite a salty past

Here’s to keeping alive the memories of those who toiled to bring salt to the nation and give Syracuse its nickname of The Salt City.

Walk on out

One doesn’t need to go out on a boat to get the full feel of Onondaga Lake, what with this ready public dock walk.
