Our backyard peony tree has a hard act to follow.
The front yard peony we left behind at the old house was one of the most bountiful of that bunch of plants we’d put in the ground on our dozen years there.
We put this plant in a couple years ago and hoped.
It’s showing sings of prosperity.

Get the striped one, requested my dear wife Karen.
The bloom to the lower right sure looks distinct.
Lovely post, Mark. I love peonies. Thanks for sharing.

The shelf life of the blooms is short, but oh so sweet, Lillly. Thanks for visiting!

I’m such a huge fan of peonies. the stick I planted two years ago has finally sprouted and had its first bloom as a peony tree. I also bought two other peonies to help fill the tiny garden this year, an they are already taking off.

It’s so good to hear your new peony plants are taking off, Beth! Our front corner peony at the former house gave us such pleasure each year so now we have this new one; I know you had a great, bit peony kicking out at the cottage, too.
