Twenty beers sampled, four to go.
I texted terrific daughter Elisabeth that this year’s advent beer present has gone by in a flash.
This four featured another day in which Elisabeth and George Three decided that my dear wife Karen and I should have different beers to try. Mine was the Golden Nectar; she had the Waffle Sauce. We each sipped the other beer, too, and they were right. I preferred the lighter taste of the honey almond while Karen liked the heavier maple pecan.
Of the other days, Samuel Adams’ frestive and smooth Winter Lager went down just as the label described.
Southern Tier’s Frosted Sugar Cookie was a tad too sweet; Samuel Adams’ Od Fezziwig was a bit more stout than I prefer.
It’s very appropriate that the Fezziwig beer is a stout since old Fezziwig himself was pretty stout, but I understand that’s not to everyone’s taste.
