When the text came from my terrific daughter Elisabeth that she, George Three and niece McKenzie needed a ride to the airport early one morning of course the answer was yes.
The whole get-up, help-load-the-luggage and get-them-to-and-from took me, oh, a half-hour.
And that was with some petting of cherished rescue mutt Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle to calm her back down thrown in for good measure.
The lessons:
It’s good to have a driveway long enough to fit her car as First In for the duration of their trip.
It’s very good to live close to the airport with a very easy driving route available.
I can get up at 3:30 a.m., go back to bed, and return to my daily routine for a work day with no great distress.
Yup! Giving our kids free rides is what we do best, Mark! 😅🌈
