Before they said bye-bye for another year, our backyard lilacs had one final fantastic day of blooming.
Award-winning they were in my eyes.

Beautiful, Mark. I love lilacs so much. they remind me of my grandmother and her lilac bushes mixed with rose bushes in an enclosed garden in her back yard. rather close to the outhouse, but probably necessary in that location to help with our breathing while attending to business.

Oh how beautiful! And their fragrance is superb! I bet there were a vase or two picked of these. Even though once you pick them they do not last long.
Beautiful backyard oasis you have there, Mr. Mark!

Thanks, Nance. It’s interesting how they time themselves. We are appreciating them this year, for sure.

lilacs just keep on giving, and then, one day, with a blast of heat, they wilt away and are soon gone. but what a blaze of glory!
