I was glad to see during the walk attached to my recent work trip to downtown Syracuse that the skinny trees in historic Hanover Square still make great holiday light decorations.
Yes, just like the center tree on our front lawn.
I have suggested to my dear wife Karen that I’d like to leave our lights up longer this year. Just because.
Leave it up until July then just tell everybody that you’re getting an early start on Christmas 2019.

That would be a year-round solution, Tom, but then I’d have to move the cord ever time I mow the lawn. Sigh.

I think you should leave the lights up year round. I like the sparkliness!! I thought about putting lights in my trees in the backyard, but I havent quite figured how to put them in the enormous Sequoia.

Now that you bring it up, we have a very high pine right next to the house. I pick the small tree instead. Much easier installation, SD. I can only imagine your enormous Sequoia!

And why not? Cheerful lights can be appreciated all year long.
