We all pleaded the 5th

I hoped the weather would be good enough for us to celebrate Cinco de Mayo outside.

Yes, we were able to gather on the side of A Bitty Better in the Liverpool neighborhood of Galeville, the six of us and Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle.

My wonderful daughter Elisabeth and her sensational significant George Three brought beer, some of our Kona delights and a Mexican brand called Pacifico.

Not the Wheat, but good enough.

Our hearts go out to those affected by the erupting volcano, lava flow and earthquakes on the Big Island. We love it there so since we four visited last August.

Drinking that Kona, we talked about it.

Hats on to us.

And we pulled on the sombreros Elisabeth brought with her.

Looking dapper.

Ellie B looked sharp in her special neckwear.

By the time Georgia and Bert got there with their haul of Tecante beer and Karen got the big feast of fajitas and enchiladas ready, I kept the iPhone 8 safely in my pocket.

The conversation and camaraderie were enough to keep us all happy.

  1. Looks like you had a lovely time. Cinco De Mayo is a real big deal in the Verde Valley here, heavily promoted to the tourists and locals alike a premier occasion for intoxication, enchiladas, and big hats. Our neighborhood held a big community party. Kept everyone off the highway, within wobbly walking distance from home, and for me I met many folks I never knew. I admit to being abit disconcerted about the real time smart phone reporting by many, and wondered what of those folks securely safe in their new identities via the Witness Protection Programs do in these situations. It’s rumored there are lots of them about in Arizona.
My best to you always Mark- JoHanna.
