There’s a new wrinkle to my work for Syracuse Public Media site waer.org.
Add a Mark It Up in Syracuse podcast to my weekly community blog column.
For the debut edition, I interviewed veteran Syracuse guitarist, arranger, band leader and more Mark Doyle in the WAER-FM 88.3 studios.
He’s bringing his quite cool Guitar Noir project, which I wrote about for waer.org before the debut show and here several times last year, to the Auburn Public Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 4. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the link above.
Here’s the link to the podcast.
You’re so darn cool, my friend! I’m so happy to know you! ❤

This is so very exciting, Mr. B! I couldn’t be happier about this and the many other podcasts to come. “Mark It Up” is the perfect title (that was your idea, right?) Nice interview with the other Mark who sounds like a very grateful and humble talented man. WOOT! WOOT!

The title was a collaborative effort in a fruitful three-way business meeting to cement details regarding the podcast, Mrs. B. I’m fortunate to have the support of wise media leaders at WAER who will do everything they can to make sure this project goes far. WOOT! WOOT! Thank you, my friend. 🙂

Whew, you silver tongued devil you. Excellent podcast Mark. Your voice is very smooth and professional. Have you ever done vocal media before? It sure sounds like it.Congratulations on your new venture. I am sure it will be well received. Nicely done.

Thanks, Paul. I have been called upon for a large number of speaking engagements over the course of my journalism career, and worked on some video projects. That allowed me to become more comfortable over time. I also taught a course as an adjunct college professor, which helped, I believe. Still, listening back, I find areas I will work on.

So cool about the podcast and I’m listening to it now! I hope you have lots more of them coming up and that you get more cool guests like this one. PS Was it confusing with Mark & Mark? 🙂

Thanks, Christy! We plan to have more in the future. And I hope our voices were different enough to avoid and confusion with the listeners. 🙂

You have a voice! Double Marks! He mentioned a theremin. My stepdad has one, and my son loves it.

Get your son to learn how to play the theramin, and he can be in demand in Austin as the lone theraminist, Kerbey! Doesn’t it sound cool? … Ha, yes, I have a voice. Whaddya know. Do I talk like I write, or did it throw you off?

Nope, just like a DJ. Not at all what I imagined. But still a normal voice, not crazy.
