This Flag flies proudly to honor those who served for us

Happy Memorial Day from Syracuse, N.Y.

Happy Memorial Day from Syracuse, N.Y.

My Good Neighbor Tim knows what the special days are all about.

Always, the house next door in our Syracuse city neighborhood of Eastwood has the American Flag flying proudly atop the flagpole to mark a holiday. Tim and his lovely wife Lorraine watched patiently as I snapped away to get the best shot possible.

Happy Memorial Day. Let’s remember and thank the men and women who answered their call to duty for this country so flags can fly over so many neighborhoods. Every branch of service, every century of U.S. history.

Are there specific family members or friends that you’d like to thank for their patriotic service today?

  1. I really loved the flag and the beautiful blue sky you captured in this photograph! That was nice to give credit to the neighbor who flies his flag proudly. I also think you know that I have only mentioned two people in my family for centuries who served, my twin cousins, Johnny and Ed Tuck. I am sure back in the Civil War or Revolutionary War, my Dad’s Scottish and English ‘people’ who came to America fought. I hope for the ‘right’ side of things… smiles, robin
