Have you seen your Bitstrips self yet? (From Bistrips app)

Lois and Clark, make room for Karen and Mark.(From Bitstrips app)

My dear wife Karen was focusing so very intently on the screen of her iPhone. Push this and ponder. Swipe that and wonder. Then she gave at least half of her attention to me on the recliner. Look at me, look at the phone. Look at me, look at the phone. Click. Touch.

We have been Bitstripped.

That’s the newest free-app craze that’s all over Facebook. Download Bitstrips and you’ll open a door to a new screen-art phenomena.

Karen was carefully picking out the details to create herself as a comic strip character. Then she was just as methodically selecting the right characteristics to make a comic Mark.

She satisfied her inner artist and sent it back into app-land.

We waited.

Bitstrips is very popular, you see. So much so that this https://markbialczak.com/2013/11/05/have-you-seen-your-bitstrips-self-yet/ Google reveals a Wall Street Journal story reporting that Bitstrips is now backed by Asia’s richest man.

Anyway, Karen’s work was rewarded later that same night with a special delivery that placed our new selves in various cartoon strips.

Good work, dear. We now live on in the comic book world.

Karen looks fantastic, as she should.

My dear wife explained that she had to put a cap on my head because none of her options up-top captured my thinning situation correctly. I’m not bald. I’m not not-bald. Work on that, will you Bitstrips artists? Anyway, yes, I do own a rather substantial collection of nicely crowned baseball hats.

Out of the bunch of strips, I liked the one of us sitting in the front seat of a car with Karen driving us to a sudden stop. I laughed at the one that featured Karen in the “Seinfeld” world, with the surly server declaring “No soup for Karen.”

And I think so much of the one that declares “Mark and Karen are two peas in a pod” that I share it right here.

May Bitstrips be as kind to you.

  1. Love your cartoon characters. After seeing several of my friends in cartoon form, I was going to do this as well. But I discovered that Bitstrips wanted access to my FB friends’ info. So, I, sadly and reluctantly, parted ways with this very cute app. If there’s a way around that, I’d jump on this. 🙂

    • My wife, Karen, did all the app lifting on this one, Judy. I’m like you. When an app asks to access friends’ info, I’m inclined to get the heck out of there. I’m glad Karen stuck with it! I love our characters, too.
