Breathe deep

I have to admit that this sign outside a stop-and-sign stand at the fall food truck rally made my brain stop and double clutch. I didn’t realize they were giving away an air cleaner machine until I thought about it. I first thought that that scuba divers were in some sort of particle danger from…

Great truck name

On our lookie-loo loops at the fall food truck rally, this particular truck caught me eye not because of its food signs … … but because of its name. Truck Norris. Nice touch. Makes me wonder if its food is tough? Are there beef cuts chuck?

On a roll with my food truck order

Those of you who figured I’d be on the lookout for the Bold Coast Lobster truck at the fall food truck rally, you win. Ding ding ding. My dear wife Karen and I decided after we’d walked the loop with terrific daughter Elisabeth and fiance George that lobster would be on our plate. It’s a…

Big sky at the gate

It seemed right to see the big sign outside the entrance of the fall food truck rally remind me that our state fairgrounds is governed by agriculture and markets. Food, right? We were ready for lunch. More to come. Want to take a guess at what I ate?

Food trucks rally in the fall, too

My dear wife Karen, terrific daughter Elisabeth, fiance George Three and I decided it was time for another visit to a food truck rally. Our decision was made easy by the fact that they were gathering for an autumn visit to the New York State fairgrounds. As we walked over the pedestrian bridge toward the…

Looking good on the field

A great addition to the Metropolitan Room experience are the two rows of seats directly in front of the dining space. Step out and you’ll find a view of the game that any major-league fan would pay megabucks for at a big-league park. At Sunday’s game, the seats in the sun gave way to an…

A great family day at the Syracuse Mets club

My dear wife Karen had a wonderful idea for this past Sunday. She sent me an item she spotted from the Syracuse Mets’ Facebook page promoting a Mothers Day special. They were throwing a nice brunch in their Metropolitan Club, with a ticket to the 1 p.m. game against the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. Wonderful…

A beer tasted good at Pickle’s

Thank you, co-worker of my dear wife Karen who said Pickle’s would be a good play for a Saturday stop. A few draft beers go us ready for a big, big football Saturday ahead of us. We still had a few hours to prepare back at Karen’s home base before we set off on foot…

Ava gets collared

Chances are pretty good that if my dear wife Karen and I left the Food Truck Battle with a gift for our cherished rescue mutt Ellie B, Elisabeth and George Three picked up a little something for their cherished rescue cat Ava. I think her new collar is fabulous.

Of course they sold other stuff

The Food Truck Battle included artisans selling their products inside a state fairgrounds building. We decided on a bow for cherished rescue mutt Ellie B aka Dogamous Pyle. Upon return home, we saw she wears it well.
