The pool is ready, really
After much work from my dear wife Karen, it’s ready. Really. The new liner is in. Our tiny little hose filled up that great, big hole. The new pump is running. Knock on wood. May her cool-offs be many.

Let me take you up in the sky for some holiday cheer. Happy Fourth of July. Saved from a recent trip to the Syracuse Chief’s NBT Bank Stadium.
Our Tuesday night golf league at Foxfire sure has given KP and I great views after we come out of the pub from our post-round relaxation. Last week out in Baldwinsville I noticed the loveliest moon back out over the course. It looked so good I had to use my iPhone 8 to capture it…
We took an added stroll from our visit to Polish Fest to take a good, long look at the new place where George Three has started to work. It’s just up Erie Boulevard West from Clinton Square. My terrific daughter Elisabeth’s sensational significant has been explaining to me that his great new job is in…
We won’t miss Polish Fest at downtown Syracuse’s Clinton Square. Hover over a gallery photo for a description. Click on an image for an enlarged slide show. We start with our lunch. Our go-to place has become the tent from Utica’s finest Polish Community Home. Of course, after eating, we walk to take in the…
The red-lined bulletin popped up on my work monitor. Another active shooter in our midst. Horrifying. My eyes went to sketchy The Washington Post details. I refuse to let these occurrences escape my attention no matter their increasing frequency. How very horrifying. Shots fired at newspaper in Annapolis, Md. They all hurt, yes. Every time…
They look even better with bottles of Kona Wailua Wheat and Blonde Ale inside them, don’t they?
My daily walk to the nearby Dunkin‘ Donuts brought me past a beautiful, flowering tree. In fact, there are two, side by side. Can anybody give me some help as to what type of tree I am passing?
My terrific daughter Elisabeth and her sensational significant George Three did more than take me out to the Syracuse Chiefs baseball game and ply me with food and drink for Father’s Day. They zipped over to the house with a nicely wrapped present the next day as well. Holiday proper, and I was smiling again.…
The pool guy came with a big hose to continue in the process of getting the pool ready for this summer off 2018. Out came all the dirty water that got past the covers over the winter and settle under the crack lines. With it drained, the old liner can come out and the new…
