Under pressure.
We had much fun rooting for the hometown Syracuse Crunch skating against the visiting Charlotte Checkers the night before the gold medal Winter Olympics men’s hockey game between the U.S. and Canada.
The tight contest had it all: fast skating, back-and-forth scoring and too much fighting for my hockey tastes.
Alas, the home squad couldn’t get within a goal in the last minute as Charlotte put in an empty-netter and lost by one.
The defeat snapped a seven-game winning streak for Syracuse. Nice season!
Ah, good game and so close!
