Thank you for taking care of me.
A few days ago, our cherished rescue mutt let me know she needed to take care of business at 2 a.m.
I groggily opened the back door let her out in our fenced yard and retreated to put on my shoes and grab my trusty flashlight to join her on her circuit.
Too slow.
Immediately I was hit by that awful smell.
I bellowed for my dear wife Karen and out we rushed.
Yup. The dog had been skunked. Again.
I grabbed the bottle of Pooph I’d purchased in case, a few cloths from the back of our car, and got wiping down the dog’s fur.
Again and again.
It works pretty good.
But still.

Stay away!
Nevertheless, skunk smell just doesn’t go away with the snap of the fingers.
Karen has laundered furniture coverings.
We’ve used our wax scents a lot.
Bowls of vinegar sit out.
More Pooph wiping for the dog.
Ammonia-soaked rags have been tossed around the fence perimeter.
Most importantly, once darkness falls, the dog and I walk out front with the leash. The backyard is for daylight hours only.
Have I lived-and-learned this time?
Oh no! I am sooooo sorry! It’s dreadful!

Oh, that smell, Nance. We battled it quickly.

We have not encountered that odor in a while, Mark. That being said, it is a smell one cannot easily wipe away from their past…or their present, of course. It sounds like you are initiating the correct corrective actions.

Ph no! Ours got t a few weeks ago, but it wasn’t too bad, but bad enough for an unplanned wash down outside in the dark. Yep, it’s leash time.
